Day 61 – Reykjavik to Halifax –

Weather – Fine and Cloudy 11C - 14C
Sunrise – 4.29am
Sunset – 11.09pm
Time difference - minus 11 hours ex
Sydney
Throughout the day Sun Princess steered
a south westerly course through the North Atlantic. At about 9.30am
this morning we were in a position that is exactly on the opposite
side of the Earth to Sydney – this is called “the antipode”. It
is 280 miles southeast of Nunap Isua on the southern tip of
Greenland, and 600 miles southwest of Iceland.
Day 2 of 4 sea days across the North
Atlantic, and another cool, but fine day. Our luck with the weather
continues to hold, we have only had to deal with rain on 2 of the 61
days so far, Paris and London days, and even then they were passing
showers.
Not much to share today, we had another
relaxing sea day. Crawling the walls a little as it is still too cold
and windy to be on deck, really looking forward to the warmer weather
as we head south. It must be incredibly cold up these parts in
winter, if this is what summer is like.
Lesson 2 in Cha Cha today, we did
pretty good. Just need to practice it now. We have done these dance
classes before on cruises, but they are usually conducted by
entertainment staff, the ones on this sector are being conducted by
proper dance instructors, and it does make a real difference. Today
we revisit the waltz, I really want to learn that properly, as
opposed to my usual shuffle:)
After dinner show tonight was
excellent, it was a guy by the name of Donny Ray Evins, who does a
Nat King Cole tribute show. Then onto the Wheelhouse Bar for some
dancing, we saw that to the end, so it was onto the Shooting Stars
nightclub. We did not last long there as it was only canned music,
the DJ had gone for the night.
Lorri – thanks for the sea scanner
link. They now have a static display on the tv, which plots the noon
mark on a map, not as good as the live thing, but it is something.
