Day 52 – Lisbon to Le Havre –
Friday 6/7/12
Weather – Cloudy 15C - 18C
Sunrise – 6.43am
Sunset – 10.20pm
Time difference - minus 8 hours ex
Sydney (forward an hour last night)
During the day Sun Princess steered
north easterly courses through the Bay of Biscay. Parts of the
continental shelf extend into the bay creating relatively shallow
water in comparison to the Atlantic. This shallow water, in
combination with the weather creates rough seas especially in the
winter months. The average depth of the bay is 1744 metres.
Day 52 today, marks the halfway point
of this 104 night cruise !!!!!
Another sea day today, and everyone
looks like they need it !! Late night shows, combined with clock
going forward meant sleep in all round. We did not get to the dining
room before it closed for breakfast at 9.30am, so we had to go up the
the buffet. An hour and a half later we were still there, social
animals that we are :)
Today is the last sea day of this
sector, with Paris tomorrow, and Dover the next. Therefore today is a
wrap up day for many of the on board activities : Bingo jackpot must
go off, so the last session is packed by the crows who swoop and play
in the last round only (like us), the photography contest voting,
Progressive Trivia results (not us) , Horse Racing final and a few
other things to round out the last sea day of the sector.
So, you now begin the journey to collect us from New York, sadly the time flies hey, gotta make every moment count, great to be along with you for the trip of a life time..
