Day 6 – Sydney – Darwin 21/5/12
Weather – Fine, Sunny, 24C – 26C
Sunrise – 7.05am
Sunset – 6.51pm
This morning, maintaining a westerly
course through the Arafura Sea, Sun Princess passed 12 miles from
Marchinabar Island, at the tip of Cape Wessel at about 5am. At 6pm we
passed Croker Island, 10 miles port side. Croker Island is an island
in the Arafura Sea, off the coast of Northern Territory, 200km east
of Darwin. Shortly after we altered course to south-west, entering
Dundas Strait about 9.30pm. Dundas Strait connects the Arafura Sea to
the Van Diemen Gulf.
Today is almost a carbon copy of
yesterday, so will not bore with a full repeat. Trivia team is in a
real form slump now, so much so that on 3 or 4 questions, we had the
correct answers in the team, but the majority vote over ruled, and
got it wrong. We finished 3 off the lead...oh for what could have
been !!!
Lunch in the buffet today – a rare
event – wont be in a hurry to go back up there..much prefer being
pampered in the restaurant, plus portion control discipline is
lacking.
Donna did Zumba and Line Dancing again
in the arvo, and I assisted the group keep the bartender company on
the Sundowner bar.
Another after of socialising poolside,
barside and cafeside followed by another enjoyable dinner in the
restaurant. We passed of the pre and post dinner shows
tonight..getting a bit spoilt for choice :)
Note alanc – we have David
Crathorne in the Atrium. Can't recall seeing Alana and Alan on
Princess Patter, may be later in the cruise perhaps.
Darwin tomorrow – been a long hike up
and around the coast !! Will try and use he opportunity to upload
some photos tomorrow, if we can find a decent free wi-fi joint, or
use the personal hotspot through the iPhone.
Have a great day in Darwin
ReplyDeleteThanks for your answer re Allana & Alan it looks like they are not on this year. They have been on the last 2 RTWC performing everynight in the Atrium,Running the Choir and Allana ran the Ballroom Classes.
ReplyDeleteAlan and Alana will be on the Dawn Princess for the 75 pacific rim cruise... so we have been told...
ReplyDeletethey were great last year in what they did ( much more than just performing ) they pulled the most consistant crowds...
Alana won employee of the month... not bad seeing she is a contractor LOL....
